What does it take to be a great artist?
Often times people want the result of success and not what it takes to be successful. Does this make sense to you? If not, let me break it down and we'll use #YMCMB for example since this is youngmulababy.com lol. Aspiring artists see the artists and affiliates of #YMCMB living lavish lifestyles and they want that, not the hard work aspect of it. Those are the type of people that are in it for the wrong reasons and I will not and cannot tolerate "artists" like that. I use quotes because in my opinion, you cannot truly call yourself an artist if this is a job to you. If you don't see it as fun creative expression than you probably won't make it and if you do, it will be very short lived. Work hard, don't rush the process, make your own way and never give up. That's the secret!

Rise Of An Empire Review
Rise Of An Empire: YMCMB
I am just going to do a partial review and only write about the album in general:
First of all...my wish came true! I got to hear more of Lil Twist and I am very impressed!
His back it up song reminded me of a song he did with Golden Child and
Lil Za...can't think of the name right now. Mack Maine said he still ain't got to hit
Miley Cyrus yet lol I like how Euro kicks the album off just right!
Lil Chuckee did his thing along with Stunna and Shanell!
Overall every song on the album had a nice beat to me. I usually skip over songs with whack beats that's why I usually don't Buy albums, but every song on this album was jamming. I'm glad that everyone that started out in Young Money is still in young money! I see growth and maturity in every one of the artists in the roster! It also goes without saying that Wayne, Nicki, Drake, and Tyga killed it!
I look forward to all of the solo projects they have coming out!

Stay Consistent...Always!
Consistency means steadfast adherence to the same principles, course, form, etc according to dictionary.com When it comes to being an independent artist, YOU MUST STAY CONSISTENT!
I get so tired of hearing people give up on their dreams because they feel as though it is not happening fast enough...um,YOU JUST STARTED! People often give up right before a career oriented breakthrough occurs! Even if it takes years before you see a significant improvement in your career, one thing is for sure, IF IT IS SOMETHING YOU ARE TRULY PASSIONATE ABOUT, YOU WILL NEVER LET GO OF THAT DREAM. So many people enter the entertainment industry for the WRONG reasons, especially the music industry! They think: FAST MONEY. They also might see a person rising steadily and think that they can just ride the next available coat tail without putting in any real work...not with me! I can spot a user 2 miles away, not 1! So many people ask me to some way some how get young money to sign them to a record deal and I tell each and every one of them:
1. A cult fan base will get you a record deal (Stop trying to get on with 10 fans smh)
2. Good music will help you keep that record deal (Stop sending me crappy songs)
I also tell them that I cannot get them a record deal with young money, and that they can if they prove to young money that they deserve a record deal!
I am putting in over 15 hours a day now promoting youngmulababy.com along with acting, filming and writing because it is my passion even when I was not making money from it!
Ask yourself this...would you want to sign someone that didn't want to take the time to build their own brand?
Would you want to sign someone that did not want to invest their own money into themselves?
Stay Consistent even when it is slow and you don't think your campaign is working, because someone is always watching to see how persistent you are...someone is always rooting for you, even when the ones closest to you are not. -tmd

Nicki goes Natural!
Nicki has been sporting her natural hair these days, and I love it! Don't get me wrong, I'll love Nicki no matter what she wears, but as a woman that has been going natural for the last 9 months (no perms or heat) I just love to see s women especially in #YMCMB rocking their natural hair too! I've never been one to wear weave or wigs, but I knew from the time I saw Nicki in that Warning video that she did not have to wear weave if she didn't want to.
